Dietrich had been kicked out of the establishment because she had been wearing pants, one of her signature looks. The vaudeville comedy duo Wheeler & Woolsey soon after made an appearance in skirts.

What’s this? From the corner of her eye Marlene spots movement in the distance. Suddenly Wheeler and Woolsey appear, instead of their regular slacks they wore skirts! They make their way towards the restaurant, proud smiles lighting up their faces.

“Nope, nope nope. No Slacks!” Says Mr. Cobb. Marlene was baffled! She kept her cool. Mr. Cobb wouldn’t listen, but Marlene’s friends were hatching a plan of their own.
