Grandma's Roti

A side project reflecting on the intergenerational relationship between my younger self and my grandma. We would bond through cooking, making one of my favorite foods: roti! This fledgling story concept follows a young girl’s trip to grandma’s house, and through many trials (and mishaps) the recipe is complete. At the end, our family roti recipe would be included.

"Mine never turns out right!" Grandma hugs me tightly and smiles. She doesn't seem to care that it's ugly or messy, she's just happy that we are here together.

After we are done, I sit down next to a stack of roti that is taller than me! "How will I ever eat so many roti Grandma?" "With this plate, of course!" Grandma says.
